Cleft lips and palates happen during pregnancy when the tissue that forms to become the roof of the mouth and upper lip are not completely joined. This birth defect can lead to problems involving eating and talking, as well as ear infections, hearing loss and dental problems.
A simple corrective surgery can change lives for the better, however, basic operation cost an arm and a leg. With this in mind, a Japanese digital company embarked on a campaign that would use its many resources to promote awareness of this condition and provide immediate aid to children with cleft lips and palates.
Backed by the company’s Kyosei philosophy, which deals with living and working for the common good, they formed a partnership with Operation Smile Philippines and crafted the Print for Smiles campaign in the hopes of bringing bigger and brighter smiles to the Filipino community.
Photos were printed on canvas or satin semi-gloss photo paper through large format printer. Digital images should be ready for printing with file size at 18” X 24” or 36” x 24” (300 dpi).
Cost of printing are as follows:
Satin semi-gloss 18” x 24” at Php350
Canvas 18” x 24” at Php500
Satin semi-gloss 24” x 26” at Php700
Canvas 24” x 36” at Php1,000
For other sizes, cost per square inch for satin is Php0.80 and Php1.20 for canvas.
Proceeds of this program will go to Operation Smile Philippines.
