Storage Solutions for Shoebox Spaces Part 1

In a country where condominiums and apartments keep getting smaller there is only one word I can think of: MAXIMIZE. Because of this, I challenged myself to continuously search for items or equipment that will allow usage of the same floor area while acquiring extra storage space.

First attempt on “Same Space, More Storage” mission:

My husband chanced upon an ottoman cum storage box yesterday while we are doing our weekend errands. The first thing we did was to sit on it to ensure that it is comfortably cushioned and can sustain our weight.

Our verdict: It is a sturdy piece, cushioned enough not to make your butt sore. (This is incomparable with your usual ottoman but can best replace a window or corner bench.)

The ottoman is very handy and can be stored or transported easily because it folds flat when not in use.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out a way to assemble it.

The 3 main parts: base, body and cover.

Best thing about it is that it provides 30 inch seating space (can sit a maximum of 2 adults) and more than 3 cubic feet of storage space. The dark brown faux-leather upholstery also matches the color of our shelves, cabinet and bed.

This can be an ideal gift for:

–          Couples, bachelors or bachelorettes living in a small apartment or condominium unit.

–          People who like items with multiple functions.

–          People who need more storage space.
