Years ago, a friend told me over dinner that he looks at the menu from right to left. The objective was to check the cost of the entrees and whatever it is that “fits” will be part of his selection. Back then, we ordered grilled pork chops in a restaurant that serves lip-smacking good baby back ribs and steaks.
As the wallet becomes thicker, you will notice a change in the direction of your eyes. You look at the menu from left to right choosing whatever it is that your taste buds prefer and the cost is secondary.
Conclusion: The way you read the menu is directly proportional to the state of your wallet.
Cheers!
