If youâre on the hunt for budget-friendly, brioche-style donuts that donât skimp on flavor, Founders Donuts should definitely be on your radar. Based in Makati (and now popping up in more mall locations across Metro Manila), theyâre known for their soft, pillowy donuts with that just-right textureânot too airy, not too dense, and definitely not disappointing.
We recently grabbed another box (yes, weâre repeat customers!) and here’s our honest reviewâflavor by flavorâbased on what our family of 6 fights over. đ

đ© First, Letâs Talk Texture
Founders Donuts are made from brioche dough, which gives them a rich, soft bite. What we love? The balance. Theyâre not the kind of donut thatâs mostly air (you know the ones), and theyâre far from the overly dense âbread-with-icingâ types either. You get a real sense of value in every biteâand for the price (more on that later), thatâs a big win for us budget-conscious parents!
Whatâs in Our Box: A Family of Favorites
This isnât our first box, so youâll notice the flavors arenât totally assorted. We played favoritesâand hereâs the lowdown on each one:

đ§ Kid-Approved Flavors:
đ Strawberry Candy
A sweet, pink pick. Thanks to its candy-like glaze, this oneâs always a hit with the kids. Itâs fun and photogenicâbasically, donut eye candy.
đ© Oreo Dream
Another kid favorite! A classic combo of crushed Oreos on a soft brioche baseâsafe, reliable, and well-loved by all our mini donut critics.
đ Strawberry Cream
This one gets mixed reviews. The kids love it at first, but often leave half unfinished. It’s rich, creamy, and can get a little “umay” after a few bites. It might be better shared.
đ© Chocolate Sprinkles
A new flavor we tried because of my chocolate-loving son. Verdict? âItâs like a party donut.â Sweet, familiar, and a bit nostalgic.

Crowd Favorite for Adults:
đ„„ Toasted Coconut
This flavor totally surprised us. We’re not even coconut fans, but this one won us over. Itâs like a classy version of bucayo (a Filipino coconut candy) sitting on top of a donut frosted with white chocolate. It’s sweet, but not overly so, crunchy, but still soft underneath. If you’re not usually a fan of coconut, try this anyway. It just might convert you.

My Personal Pick: Ovomaltine Custard
This one’s my guilty pleasureâand the only filled donut in our box. It has a soft brioche base, creamy custard filling, choco malt frosting, and a crunchy topping that reminds me of Maltesers. Itâs sweet, rich, and indulgent. If you love texture combos, this is a winner. Just donât expect to stop at one (I tried and failed đ ).

For those who like a less sweet, custard-filled donut, try their Boston CrĂšme instead. Itâs got a more generous dark chocolate glaze and a milder profile.
Letâs Talk Price
What really makes Founders Donuts a standout? The price.
- Classic flavors: PHP 49 each
- Premium flavors: PHP 55â59 each
- Per dozen discount: Even cheaper (and yes, youâll want a dozen)
Founders offers a great-tasting, budget-friendly option in a world of artisanal donuts that can run from PHP 75 to PHP 130 a piece. While there are other brioche donut brands with a more refined finish, for the price? Founders is a sweet deal.
